Higher Education Curriculum
This project was conducted in a general education sociology course. This curriculum unit introduced sociology students to the issue of differential impacts of environmental pollution by socioeconomic status and to air pollution concerns in general. Students collected air samples from neighborhoods across Chicago and tested them for nitrogen oxide; results were mapped to show areas of higher and lower air pollution levels.
